"Great value for money and superb staff -- make you feel like family"

I have been coming to the St. David for years upon a recommendation from a colleague who has stayed here for -- it believe, decades! As the other reviews have pointed out, it is very conveniently located to Paddington Station (great for getting to Heathrow). My favorite rooms are on the front overlooking the square. I had a back, subterranean room once and am now careful to ask for a room on the front on at least the first floor. The hotel has a steady stream of international tourists (a group of Portuguese school students were checking in when I was in the lobby checking my e-mails and I was seriously concerned about noise, but slept like a baby). The rooms are small, but neat and have everything you could want... including a fan, which was very nice for a warm evening when I didn't want to sleep with the French doors open. The best thing is how accommodating the owners are. Absolutely lovely people. Safe hotel for women traveling on their own. Easy walk to many sites. A morning ramble to Hyde Park was just lovely. Will stay here again and again and again
We have just returned home after a lovely weekend in London.
We stayed at St. David's Hotels and even though we have been travelling a lot all of us we were so touched by the warmth of the staff of St. David's Hotels.
The atmosphere at the hotel is unique - you feel so much welcome as soon as you step inside - from the people in the reception and not least to the staff we met during our two times of very nice breakfast.
The triple room we stayed in was everything we could ask for.
Your hotel is located in a beautiful quiet quarter of London - and the connections to and from the hotel to the sights we wanted to see could not have been better.
We will definitely recommend this hotel to our friends and families in Denmark.
Thank you for your hospitality and service during our stay.

Clean, comfortable, old style hospitality. Home cooked meal was delicous. Room (single) small but comfortable. So convenient to shops, restaurants and travel (train and bus). Would definitely stay there again if ever heading back to London. Highly recommend the stay.

Having checked out of a nearby hotel/flea pit after realising the online photos bore no resemblance to reality, St David's Hotel was a welcome experience indeed. The staff could not have been nicer. Our room, though small, overlooked Norfolf Square and was very clean. We slept really well, ate a hearty breakfast which was delivered promptly to our table, and were then allowed to leave our bags at reception all day prior to our train home in the evening. Great value for money. Thank you to everyone at St David's.
This is a very basic hotel. If you want a 5-star hotel in London, you will need to dig deep into your wallet. St. Davids is not the Hilton - but it doesn't cost £300 either. For less than £100, you get a basic room (no elevator, no in-room wireless). If you want bells & whistles in London, it will cost you. You get a full english breakfast included and the staff are very friendly and helpful. On top of that this hotel has a great location, just steps from Paddington Station with good Rail & Tube connections. Nice restaurants in the area too.
This hotel is great value - but get a grip - its a basic B&B hotel, it isn't a 5 star property. You won't find anything that compares at this price. This hotel makes London affordable when you aren't travelling on a business expense account.
We stayed in this hotel for two nights and we really liked it. We moved from another hostel that was really horrible, since the St Davids was very close to the first hostel and had an available room we checked in. The staff was friendly and helped us from the beginning, we explained them that we were having problemes with the disgusting situations in the first hostel and could not manage to stay there anymore and were looking for a cheap room for two nights, they suggested us to have a room for their full price 90£ ( double room, bathroom inside ) but after the explaining of the situation they offered us a cheaper 80£ per night and, if we wanted a room with shared toilet, 60£ per night per room, so we took that. the room was on the first floor and they helped us with the heavy luggages ( there is no lift ), they all were ever friendly and kind from the receptionists to the people who serve the breakfast ( breakfast is included and you can choose among english or continental one ). The room was clean and nice and also the toilet. The area is very central and the hotel is really close to Paddington tube station and to many buses, in about 15 minutes of bus you can be in Oxford Circus and other central areas. The area can be loudy at night and we did not sleep well at all in the first hostel but at St Davids we had not problem at all about anything. We really suggest this hotel, they also have many leaflets suggesting turist attractions in London, England and even day trips to other European places as Paris.
